Our Boat Trip starts by getting to know the port of Mahon, the biggest natural port in Europe. You will see the ‘Isla del Rey’ (King’s Island), named after Alfonso lll who landed here to reclaim Menorca for Spain in 1287. And the Isla de Lazareto, a quarantine base built by the British in 1711.
Nacho, your skipper, will be pleased to answer any questions in English or Spanish, that you have, as he explains about the history of the island and the places of interest you will be seeing.
Once clear of the port we will turn either to the North or to the South, depending on the prevailing wind and sea conditions.
the north. We will sail for a couple of hours, following the coast, until we reach the nature reserve of the Isla Colom. There we will anchor in crystal clear waters off a virgin beach only accessible by boat.
the south. We will sail towards the Isla del Aire (Windy Island) passing through the turquoise waters of Punta Prima and sailing close inshore until we reach Cala Biniparratx, a beautiful beach difficult to reach from the land.
During the morning (conditions permitting) we will make a short stop to enjoy a swim and an aperitif. Once we arrive at our destination we will drop anchor for the lunch stop when there will be plenty of time to relax, sunbathe, have a drink or two and maybe swim ashore or take the dinghy to explore the area.
We offer masks and snorkel on board, so you may be lucky enough to see lots of marine life.
While you are enjoying all there is to offer, Nacho the skipper, will be preparing a tasty buffet lunch of fresh produce that Pili will have brought on board that same morning. There will be plenty of salad, a rice or pasta dish, a Spanish omelette, a tuna pastry, fresh fruit and a naughty sweet!
You will see that the fridge will be full of soft drinks, beers, cold water and, of course, some Lambrusco and white wine, all of which you can help yourself to during the day. cheers!
